Amid the wave of domestic substitution in the chip industry, a Shenzhen-based technology company is building momentum in two distinct areas.

Xinqihang Technology, a chip design company specializing in biometrics and human-computer interaction, recently unveiled its core product portfolio. The two product lines each have their own technical focus.

I. Fingerprint Recognition: Glass-Based Solutions Deliver a Performance Leap

Fingerprint chips are not uncommon, but Xingqihang has chosen a different technological path—replacing traditional silicon substrates with glass substrates.

This choice has made Xingqihang the only company in mainland China and one of only two globally to achieve mass production of glass-based fingerprint chips. The switch to glass substrates brings not only a change in materials but also improvements in multiple performance metrics:

Security: Equipped with proprietary live detection technology, the chips have passed the three major certifications from China’s Ministry of Public Security (algorithm, fingerprint reader, and live detection), as well as the U.S. PBI-PIV image certification and Microsoft certification, effectively resisting fake fingerprint attacks.

Reliability: It can recognize dry, wet, cracked, and slightly soiled fingers; recognition rates reach 95% in challenging scenarios involving the elderly and children. It has a lifespan of 1 million presses, which is 10 times that of ordinary silicon-based solutions.

Integration: Compact in size and low in power consumption, it can be embedded in end devices such as smartphones, smart door locks, and laptops.

II. Large-Screen Touch: From Domestic Substitution to Partial Leadership

The market for large-screen touch displays ranging from 10 to 110 inches has long been dominated by imported and Taiwanese companies. Xingqihang’s strategy is clear and pragmatic: first achieve domestic substitution, then seek technological superiority.

Currently, its touch chips cover the full range of screen sizes, with key performance metrics on par with imported products. In terms of waterproofing and reliability, the company has established its own competitive edge—supporting normal screen operation underwater, which opens up new possibilities for outdoor equipment, industrial control, and in-vehicle displays.

At the same time, the chips are cost-competitive, enabling direct replacement of imported chips.

With two product lines—one building barriers through material innovation and the other opening up the market through performance improvements—such accumulated achievements deserve recognition as domestic chips gradually mature.
